Rachel Haroldsen

My name is Rachel Haroldsen, and I have an expensive degree that says I’m a mental health therapist. The licensing boards of Idaho and Missouri also have approved me to be a mental health counselor.

Life is why I became a mental health therapist. I know how to support you through trauma, because of my own. I understand kids, especially the ones labeled as “hard” and “naughty, because, well, I was a difficult and naughty kid. Relationship issues, well, we’re not here to talk about me. Religious trauma and church crisis…?! Check!

I believe in a person centered approach and meeting my clients where they are. This means that I integrate an eclectic approach when working with you, based on your needs, the situation and your goals. I never want you to feel as though I only see your problems, I want you to feel seen and known as a human who has had some “stuff” happen. I firmly believe that we all know best what we need to heal, we just need some support getting there.

When I am not helping you with your “stuff”, I’m actively working on my own. I have two dogs who are embarrassing when around other people. I enjoy gardening, yet, what grows often resembles a cure for cancer instead of the plant it’s meant to. I am an avid reader, podcast listener and enjoy learning and growing.  I’m also one of the funniest people I’ve ever met, so, you’re in for a real snack. Healing isn’t meant to be so serious! When I’m not busy trying to make the world a better place, you can find me with my friends and family or binge watching two seasons of a psychological thriller in one sitting… is there any other way to enjoy a psychological thriller?!
